Project Tomorrow®, an American education non-profit organization, in collaboration with Blackboard Inc. has tracked the growing student demand for online learning and how schools are meeting that demand. The initial report, Learning in the 21st Century: A National Report of Online Learning analyzed trends from 2006 Speak Up survey data and was followed by a trends update on the 2007 Speak Up data. The 2009 Trends Update examines Speak Up survey data collected online in fall 2008 from more than 335,000 K-12 students, teachers, administrators, and parents across the United States.
