Collaborative FLL Project 2009
The First Lego League Alberta competition occurs in the last week of January 2010 at NAIT, in Edmonton. This full day Lego science competition is probably the most exciting and motivating activity teachers can plan for a team of grade 4-9 students. First Lego League activities involve teams of students solving theme-based challenges and then presenting their solution to judges, while having their Lego Robot compete against other teams. Following a core value of "Gracious Professionalism", the FLL is simply an experience that science teachers should not pass up.
The goal of the Collaborative FLL Project 2009 is to connect teachers and their students in the support the development of a FLL team in their classroom or school. The project involves connecting teams to each other via an online student network or videoconferencing to share their Lego building solutions for FLL tasks that are part of the 2010 competition. Participating teachers will be provided with a complete FLL registration and Field kit, with the goal of developing a team to participate in January 2010. Teams are responsible for supplying their own RCX or NXT Lego Mindstorms kit, as well as presenting their task solution to the project group on December 16th, 2009
Number of Participant Teachers: Twelve

Project Timeline: November 1 - December 16th, 2009
