Course ID: ROB0905

Instructor: Nathaniel Ostashewski

Prerequisite: Lego Mindstorms RCX or NXT Kit

Lego robotics in the classroom is an excellent way to get students excited and motivated about science and technology.  This 2Learn.ca Courselet is for teachers who are interested in participating or learning about the First Lego League competition (FLL).  FLL has grown over the past 10 years to an international science and technology phenomenon that is being done in schools, community groups, and student clubs!  No prior FLL or Lego robotics experience for teachers is necessary wanting to take this courselet, but participating teachers need access to a Lego Mindstorms RCX or NXT kit.  At the conclusion of this Courselet, teachers will have developed implementation strategies for the Lego robotics and FLL materials in their classroom, even to the point of supporting a FLL team to take to the Alberta FLL competition in the last week of January 2010.
