Student Videoconference #5: Living Off the Land
with Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump Interpretive Centre
Series #1 Date: February 8, 2012 (10:30 - 11:30 a.m.)
Learn how the First Nations people lived in harmony with nature and our Mother Earth. Learn about the tools and technologies that evolved with the buffalo culture. Explore camp life during the buffalo hunt.

Videoconference Series Details:

This event is one in a series of six videoconferences with Alberta Parks and 2Learn.ca. Classes will join specialist presenters from Alberta Parks as they share a series of exciting, live, interactive videoconferencing events, relevant to the Alberta program of Studies. This engaging pilot program of events connects classrooms, teachers, Ecosystems, Fish & Wildlife, and our Parks across Alberta.  This series is provided at no cost to Alberta participants by the 2Learn.ca Education Society Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation – Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, Dinosaur Provincial Park, Beauvais Lake Provincial Park and Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park National Historic Site, along with Alberta Sustainable Resource Development, Parks Canada – Waterton Lakes National Park, Prairie Conservation Forum, and University of Lethbridge.

Students who participate in all six videoconferences in the series will receive a Certificate of Student Achievement from 2Learn.ca and participating organizations.

Teachers who engage their students in all six videoconferences in the series will be provided with a Teacher Resource Package from the participating organizations and will receive a Professional Certificate for their professional portfolio.
