Interactive Whiteboards in the Classroom

This Courselet provides teachers from across the grades with an opportunity to develop an understanding of effective uses of interactive whiteboards in curriculum delivery and assessment. This courselet explores specific advantages of interactive whiteboard use and engages teachers in collaborative discussions centered on exemplar videos. The identification of resources and development of shared resources or lesson plans culminate the activities in the Courselet. Upon completion teachers will have developed core understandings of interactive whiteboard practices and go away with resources for immediate use in their classroom.

Interactive Whiteboards (IWBs) can be an excellent way to build activities and engage students. Lessons created with IWBs should maximize the resources and features that these devices bring to the classroom. This courselet will focus on the versatility of the tools and provide the participants with a better understanding of how they can differentiate instruction with an IWB for the elementary classroom.
