Honouring Our Soldiers
Three classrooms will share an interview with a veteran and a grade five class via VC. This is on a DVD we created. We will lead class discussions from the questions and answers as reactions to the interview. We will research our own war heroes to post on a web site. Projects together will include postcards to present day soldiers. As well, we are writing thank you letters to our veteran from our interview. This honours our past. We will create video clips of all our Remembrance Day services and include pictures of our veteran and him receiving our letters. We will post these on our web sites. We will lead discussions from learning about our veterans and war heroes to understanding our future of a peaceful world. We plan to video conference the second time to share our postcards, video clips and pictures.
