This group space provides teachers with an opportunity to develop an understanding of videoconferencing technology and its effective uses in meeting moderation. 

The resources explore specific advantages of VC technology and engages teachers in best practices.  Teachers will develop a core understanding of the functionality of VC, VC meeting moderation and VC etiquette.

This group content has been designed to maximize the opportunities for the participants to succeed through interaction with the moderator, the materials, and the other participants. We have endeavoured to make it as practical and hands-on as possible.

We invite you to engage with the materials and participants.  The group is designed to allow for as much asynchronous participation as possible (on you own time, anytime, anywhere you like).  If this is your first online educational experience, you have to go through the materials and share your ideas through postings.  It is important to continue to check the group site regularly. Upon request, we may engage some planned times for lectures or discussions, so everyone can work at their own pace to a point. 

There is also a blog section in this group, and we invite you to blog at least once a week on your thoughts on videoconferencing technology, learning and your philosophy of education. This is a more personal area that will not be as directed as the discussion forums. It would be preferable to blog whenever you have some thought to share about the process and what you are learning.

There is a group email function in the Group. In addition, if there are any comments or ideas how to improve the process, we would love to hear them as your feedback will help make this a better experience for everyone.

Remember, the key to success in this Group is to engage with the material and interact with the other participants. You can only get out what you put in. We look forward to getting to know each of you better as you explore the group.
