I received an email recently about a course offered in the fall:  Science Teaching in the 21st Century:  Developing an Inquiry Based Practice (K-12).  I think it has some Tuesday evenings and a couple of Saturdays.  It is over $1100 for a 500 level course but it looked good!  It uses a book by Douglas Llewellyn for grades 5 - 8 and I have been spending the summer going through the high school version of the book so, even though I am tempted, I probably won't register.  I think you can use your 3 year ATA funding to pay for the course (I'm not sure).  If anyone enrolls (registration deadline is Sept. 13) - I would love to hear about it.

Hey, that's very interesting! Joe Michaud was looking at that book earlier as well. Let's see if we can't find out more about what the UofC has in mind.

Hi Sue, Sean,

I did a little further digging and discovered that the course is being taught by Sandra Last, she is the recent principal of the Science School at Langevin and will be a great instructor for this course. I just sent an e-mail to her to "inquire" further.

Joe
