I have been trying to incorporate inquiry in a serious way in Biology 30.  Last year I talked my curriculum leader into scheduling my prep and my Biology 30 class at the same time as another teacher (second year) that was interested in my "project".  I read a Doug Llewellyn book on Inquiry in the High School Classroom and took some ideas from there to build the first unit with my partner teacher.  We have been doing journaling, are working on our second full inquiry lab (all the good ones seem to be for the nervous system unit), and I have been working on my questioning techniques.

I have signed up to do a Biology Inquiry session at the ATA Science Council (as per my proposal) and am thinking about Teachers' convention but have been swamped with work, so may have missed the deadline.

Have you heard back from the Science Council? Are you in?

I'm very interested to hear how the Inquiry unit goes for Bio 30 - which unit did you settle on?
